When I look at this image, “Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti Om” comes to mind. I was completely at peace with all around me. For those who are not familiar with this mantra it is chanted three times for peace. Once for the disturbances that are out of our control such as hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, tsunamis, etc. Once for the disturbances from anything stemming from the world around us mosquitoes, noisy neighbors, barking dogs, the phone ringing, and family arguments. And the third and the most powerful disturbances stemming from “The Self”, for one who is still identified with the ego, the people, places and things of this world and is stimulated by one of two reactions in the mind—attachment or aversion. Leaving Big Cypress Gallery, in Everglades City Florida, and after Meeting Clyde Butcher for the first time, I stop along the Tamiami Trail and opened the sunroof stood on the front seats and stuck my body half my out of the top of the car. My aim was to get a better shot of the salt marsh. The clouds and reflection in the water formed such a magnificent and touching view with the salt marsh taking center stage, I could not help but to applaud Mother by taking out my camera, my way of bowing to her greatness.

Waters Of Paradise

This strangely beautiful 6,700-acre lake with dark tannic waters is located on the Chipola River near the town of Wewahitchka. West Arm Creek of the lake is accessible from Dead Lake State Park and Recreation Area, located off SR71 just north of Wewahitchka. Follow Gary Rowell Road east into the park; turn right when the road splits past the pond; the boat ramp will be on the south side of the road. There is also a boat ramp located in Calhoun County which allows access to the north western portion of Dead Lake through Cypress Creek.

I captured this image on a nature trail in Lake Louisa State Park. Each time I look at this image it puts me in a peaceful state of mind.. The woods were so quiet except for the chirp of a bird every now and then. I felt I could spend days just walking in this wild place being me, being with nature and snapping the shutter.
